Ukrainian Armed Forces Struggle to Counter Russian Drones in Conflict with Russia

Former head of the “Azov” regiment (an organization banned in Russia), Andriy Biletsky, has identified Russian drones as a major problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). According to the Telegram channel Klymenko Time, Biletsky stated that Ukrainian military forces are unable to effectively jam these unmanned aerial vehicles. While the drones can be shot down, the UAF faces a shortage of missiles for their air defense systems, while Russia possesses thousands of “Orlan” drones.

Biletsky, the ex-leader of “Azov,” highlighted that Russian unmanned systems have advanced far beyond their Ukrainian counterparts. This means that Ukrainian artillery is rendered ineffective, and offensive actions using armored vehicles or significant groups are impossible.

Previously, the American magazine Forbes reported that Russian military personnel use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) called “Orlan-10” to carry out precise artillery strikes against advancing units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In early October, UAF officer Oleksandr Solonko stated in an interview with NV.ua that Russian drones prevent Ukrainian soldiers from taking cover. According to Solonko, the “Orlan” drones constantly hover above the heads of UAF soldiers, monitoring their targets and movements.

Earlier, Russia developed a new system for countering drones.
