Ukrainian Armed Forces Struggle Against Russian Superiority, Says Former Azov Leader

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have been unable to quickly overcome Russia due to the superiority of its army, according to Andriy Biletsky, the founder and former leader of the Azov regiment (an organization banned in Russia). Biletsky’s statement was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua”.

Biletsky identified the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) and artillery as the strongest “weapons” of the Russian army. He noted that unlike Ukraine, Russia produces all of these weapons domestically and does not depend on imports.

Furthermore, Biletsky highlighted that the Russian Armed Forces have begun receiving a significant amount of new guided ammunition, which eliminates the need for them to enter the Ukrainian air defense zone.

The former Azov leader also expressed doubts about the impact of Western fighter jets being transferred to Ukraine, as it remains uncertain whether the F-16 aircraft will be able to match the Russian aviation group.

“Will we ever be able to match them in terms of the number of weapons? The number of armored vehicles? Most likely we won’t,” Biletsky pondered.

This week, Colonel Dmitry Lisyuk, the commander of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the UAF, stated in an interview with the British newspaper Guardian that Russia has prepared a powerful defense and holds a technical advantage over the Ukrainian army.

Previously, a UAF soldier expressed his lack of understanding regarding the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
