The spokesperson for the Russian Southern Military District, Vadim Astafyev, has announced that Russian forces have successfully targeted the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Donetsk region. According to Astafyev, the units from the Southern Military District, with support from aviation and artillery fire, have inflicted significant damage on 33 enemy positions in the areas of Andreevka, Klescheevka, Kurdyumovka, and Maloilyinovka. The UAF has reportedly suffered losses of up to 155 servicemen.
Astafyev also revealed that during counter-battery operations, the enemy lost three 120mm mortars in the areas of Vasyukovka, Klescheevka, and Minkovka.
Earlier, Astafyev had reported that Russian forces successfully repelled attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the vicinity of Klescheevka and managed to penetrate the enemy’s defenses in the Donetsk region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously announced the destruction of a UAF assault group near Klescheevka.
In a separate development, a Ukrainian serviceman expressed his confusion regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
