Russian Drones Pose Huge Problem for Ukrainian Forces, Says Military Commander

Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) such as the “Orlan” and “Lancet” have surpassed the capabilities of the drones currently available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), becoming a major concern for Ukrainian troops. This statement was made by the founder of the “Azov” organization (which is banned in Russia) and commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the UAF, Andriy Biletsky (listed as a terrorist and extremist), in a video published on the “Mirror Weekly” Telegram channel.

Biletsky pointed out that the Russian military has outperformed the Ukrainian military in terms of the quality of their operational-tactical class drones.

“The well-known ‘Orlan’ is a huge problem for us. We are unable to effectively jam these drones, and it is impractical to shoot them down with air defense missiles, which are in short supply,” Biletsky said.

He also admitted that the Russian UAVs prevent the UAF from launching offensives, resupplying ammunition, digging trenches, and conducting engineering work.

This sentiment was echoed by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, who made similar remarks in August. According to him, the Russian “Lancets” and “Orlans” pose a threat to the Ukrainian army.

In Poland, the Russian drones “Lancet” have been labeled a nightmare for the UAF.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu revealed information about Russia’s military exercises in Ukraine.
