Russian Black Sea Fleet Holds Exercises in Crimea

The Russian Black Sea Fleet recently conducted military exercises involving rocket bombs at the entrance of Sevastopol Bay in Crimea. The exercises, which took place in the morning of October 21, were confirmed by the city’s governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev. These maneuvers occurred in the vicinity of the North and South moles and lasted until approximately 10:00.

Razvozhaev reassured the public that the situation in the city remained calm amidst the exercises. However, this comes after an air alarm sounded for around two hours on October 20 in Sevastopol, with reports indicating that a missile was shot down over the sea near Lyubimovka.

In response to these events, Oleg Kryuchkov, the advisor to the head of Crimea on information policy, announced a planned disposal of explosive objects on the peninsula from 11:00 to 15:00.

This comes in the wake of previous incidents, with the Russian Ministry of Defense reporting on October 18 that two Ukrainian S-200 missiles were intercepted by Russian air defense systems over Crimea.

It is important to note that tensions and conflicts continue to persist in the region, with concerns about the impact of these exercises on the stability of the area. Roman Chegrinets, a member of the Assembly of Slavic Peoples in Crimea, has expressed skepticism about the situation, stating that instead of Crimea, Ukraine will receive a hole in a donut.

As the situation unfolds, it is crucial to closely monitor developments and assess the potential consequences of these military exercises in Crimea.
