Rep. Rashida Tlaib Faces Demand for Removal from Classified Briefings over Controversial Statements on Gaza Hospital Bombing

In a recent protest, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a member of the far-left “Squad” and a Democratic representative from Michigan, repeated the debunked claim that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) were responsible for the bomb that struck a Gaza hospital, allegedly causing hundreds of casualties. This has led to a demand for her removal from future classified briefings on military operations in Israel.

The controversy arose when Tlaib sided with Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, over the Biden administration’s stance on the explosion at the Gaza hospital. U.S. and Israeli intelligence officials have consistently maintained that the blast was caused by a rocket fired from Gaza, refuting Hamas’ claim of Israeli involvement.

In a letter addressed to Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Rep. Ronny Jackson, a Republican representative from Texas, accused Tlaib of spreading “misinformation” and being a sympathizer of Hamas. Jackson demanded that Tlaib be prevented from participating in any classified briefing related to Israel’s military operations, self-defense efforts, or American military movements in the region.

Jackson emphasized the importance of not allowing Hamas sympathizers to serve as the mouthpiece for Palestinian terrorists. He argued that Tlaib’s allegiance lies with Hamas and expressed concerns about her trustworthiness with sensitive information that could potentially endanger American and Israeli lives.

Furthermore, Jackson called for the immediate revocation of Tlaib’s security clearance and her exclusion from any relevant briefings. As a member of the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees, Jackson vowed to take all necessary actions to address the situation.

Jackson also criticized the presence of Tlaib and other “Squad” members in classified briefings on the war in Israel, questioning whether it is appropriate to provide such access to individuals with alleged anti-Semitic and anti-American sentiments. He stressed the need to protect sensitive information and prevent the enemy from gaining knowledge of strategic plans.

Fox News reached out to Tlaib’s office for comment, but no response has been received at the time of writing.

The controversy surrounding Tlaib’s statements highlights the ongoing tensions between Democrats and Republicans regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It also raises questions about the appropriate conduct and access to classified information for members of Congress with controversial views.
