Israeli Defense Forces Launch Preemptive Strike on Terrorist Group at Lebanon Border

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced a preemptive strike on an armed group described as a cell of terrorists near the Lebanon border. According to reports from TASS, the IDF claims that the terrorist cell was attempting to launch anti-tank missiles towards Israeli territory in the Shlomi area. However, the IDF managed to strike the terrorists before they could carry out their attack.

Prior to this incident, the IDF had stated that since the conflict with Hamas began, they had identified around 550 unsuccessful rocket launches that had fallen within the Gaza Strip.

On October 7th, Hamas militants launched thousands of rockets towards Israeli territory, initiating the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. In light of these events, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

The IDF’s retaliatory operation, named “Iron Swords,” aims to destroy Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets within the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the delivery of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13th, Israel notified the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation.
