Israeli Defense Forces Continue Preparation for Next Stage of Military Operation in Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are intensifying their preparations for the next phase of the ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement released by the IDF’s press office on their Telegram channel.

The material stated that the IDF is continuing its readiness for the upcoming stage of the war, including ground operations.

In recent days, the IDF’s command has approved plans to expand the operational activities of soldiers. Additionally, the IDF has conducted training exercises for both regular and reserve soldiers.

Currently, the fighters of the IDF’s 188th Brigade are stationed near the Gaza Strip border. The commander of the unit has stated that the soldiers are prepared to fulfill their assigned combat tasks and “ensure the safety of the people.”

On October 15th, The New York Times reported that the leadership of the IDF had decided to postpone the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip for several days due to unfavorable weather conditions.

According to the publication, the main objective of the Israeli fighters in this operation is to eliminate the top political and military hierarchy of the Hamas Palestinian movement, including its leader, Yahya Sinwar.

Earlier, the White House explained the call made by American President Joe Biden to postpone the start of the IDF’s ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
