Russian Forces Eliminate Dozens of Ukrainian Soldiers in Donetsk Region

In a recent development, the Armed Forces of Russia’s “South” group has reportedly eliminated up to 50 Ukrainian military personnel in the Donetsk region. This information was shared by Vadim Astafyev, the head of the group’s press center, as reported by TASS.

According to Astafyev, the military personnel were targeted in the areas of Klescheevka, Vasyukovka, Pereezdnoye, and Razdolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Astafyev also mentioned that the “Nota” radio-electronic warfare station in Severesk and a tank in Kurdymovka were destroyed. Additionally, two “Msta-B” howitzers, a D-20 howitzer, and a self-propelled howitzer called “Gvozdika” were also eliminated.

Furthermore, it was stated that 12 drones were successfully neutralized.

On October 17, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost up to 485 servicemen in the Donetsk region. The ministry also added that the Southern group of forces in the Donetsk region had repelled nine attacks by Ukrainian units.

Prior to this, the Russian Ministry of Defense’s press service had announced that the Armed Forces of Russia’s “South” group had successfully repelled 10 attacks by Ukrainian fighters in the Donetsk region, with the total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces exceeding 460 soldiers within 24 hours.

On October 16, it was reported that Russian forces had launched an offensive near Donetsk, specifically towards Avdiivka, where approximately 11,000 Ukrainian soldiers remain stationed.

Earlier in the United States, the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive was acknowledged.
