Russian Forces Advance in Ukraine as Western Support Declines

Former CIA officer Larry Johnson has warned that Russian forces have begun an offensive in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone, while the Ukrainian army is facing increasing challenges. In an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom, Johnson emphasized that Western assistance is critically important for Kyiv. However, he also noted that support is likely to decline in the near future.

“While there is still some support, they will try to hold on in one way or another. But this will not stop the advancement of the Russians. As you know, they have shifted to an offensive,” Johnson emphasized.

He added that the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Palestine could also affect the volume of arms supplied to Ukraine. According to the former US intelligence agent, the situation in the Middle East has diverted international attention.

In particular, the US government has decided to relocate its 101st Airborne Division from Romania to Jordan. At the same time, Washington has deployed several F-16 fighters and other aircraft to its military bases in the region.

Johnson stressed that the measures taken by the American authorities were “very quick and decisive.” In the case of the Ukrainian crisis, the US did not take similar actions, the expert concluded.

Former Pentagon advisor Douglas Macgregor previously stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s confidence in continued Western support was merely an act.
