Russia Deploys New Hypersonic Missile System Avangard in Orenburg Region

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the latest hypersonic missile system, “Avangard,” has been put on combat duty in the Orenburg region. This development was shared through the ministry’s Telegram channel.

According to the statement, the Yasny Missile Division in the Orenburg region is currently being equipped with the underground-based missile system, “Avangard.” The infrastructure of the position area has been prepared for the deployment of another missile regiment.

Military expert Colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk, who retired, stated on October 6th that the most promising air defense systems in the world are the Russian S-400 and S-500 missile systems. He claimed that the American Patriot systems are unable to react to the Russian “Avangard” and “Kinjal” complexes.

Back in June, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that approximately half of the strategic missile forces are equipped with the latest “Yars” complexes and are being re-armed with modern missile systems featuring hypersonic warheads, such as the “Avangard.”

Earlier, military expert Alexey Leonkov reported that the United States lacks the technology to develop effective hypersonic weapons.

Previously, Putin remarked that “the ball is in our court.”
