Putin Holds Meeting on Defense and Security, Visits Military Headquarters

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently conducted an operational meeting with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council (RSC), according to reports from TASS.

Opening the meeting, the president stated that the discussion would focus on the implementation of modern technologies to ensure the defense and security of Russia.

Putin also suggested that the RSC members share their opinions on the most pertinent issues on the current agenda.

During the night, the Russian president visited the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Rostov-on-Don. There, he received a briefing on the progress of the military operation in Ukraine from the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov. Gerasimov reported to Putin that the joint troop grouping is successfully accomplishing its tasks according to plan. Additionally, he held discussions with other high-ranking representatives of the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, Putin jokingly referred to the “almighty government of Russia.”
