Prominent Hamas Figure Arrested by Israeli Forces

Israeli military forces have arrested one of the founders of the Palestinian movement Hamas, Hassan Yusuf, during raids on the West Bank. This was reported by CNN, citing Israeli authorities.

The Israeli Security Service, Shabak, informed CNN that he was arrested “on suspicion of actions on behalf of Hamas.”

Hassan Yusuf is noted as a leading Palestinian political figure, the official representative of Hamas on the West Bank, and a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

Israeli authorities have arrested him multiple times. In total, Yusuf has spent 24 years in Israeli prisons on various charges, including incitement, unauthorized entry into Jerusalem, and membership in Hamas.

It was reported yesterday that Israeli military detained over 80 individuals involved in terrorist activities on the West Bank of the Jordan River (in Samaria and Judea).

Earlier, the United States announced the timeline for Israel’s ground operation in Gaza.
