Israel Alters Plans for Ground Operation in Gaza Under US Influence

Israel is making changes to its plans for a ground operation in the Gaza Strip under the influence of Washington, according to sources cited by Bloomberg.

“High-ranking Israeli officials have stated that the role and influence of the United States in the war against Hamas are deeper and stronger than in the past,” the publication notes.

The article states that there are changes being made to Israel’s military command’s plans regarding a possible ground operation in the Gaza Strip. According to the authors, such an operation may start later but last longer.

“The United States has become seriously concerned that an Israeli invasion could lead to the involvement of Hezbollah, the Lebanese movement supported by Iran. This could open a second front and escalate the conflict, further drawing in the United States,” the publication states.

Former CIA director David Petraeus previously stated that a possible Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip would resemble the US invasion of the Somali capital in the early 1990s.

Earlier, the situation in Gaza was referred to as a humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine.
