Russian forces, with the support of aviation and artillery fire, have successfully repelled two attacks by the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Verbovka area of the Zaporizhia region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has reported this development.
The clashes took place in the vicinity of the town of Verbovka, as explained by the ministry.
The day before, the chief spokesperson for the Russian Western Military District, Sergei Zybinsky, stated that Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers had conducted airstrikes on the positions of two mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction.
Earlier, the commander of the Russian Air Defense Forces, with the call sign “Bullet,” revealed that Russian military personnel were learning to intercept American ATACMS missiles, which were supplied to Kyiv by Washington.
According to Bullet, ATACMS missiles have a range of 165 km, allowing them to reach targets from deep within Ukrainian territory to the northern part of Crimea. He explained that after the attack on a Russian airfield, Russian military personnel were initially unsure of what they were dealing with. However, this was the case with almost all the weaponry that the West had supplied to Kyiv.
Former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter previously stated that Russia was annihilating Ukrainian Armed Forces in three separate encirclements.
