Russian Forces Utilize Drones to Target Ukrainian Armed Forces, Slowing Counteroffensive

Russian military personnel are employing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) known as “Orlan-10” to conduct precise artillery strikes against advancing Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), according to a report by American magazine Forbes.

The publication states that Russian military forces use the drones to observe UAF defense lines, and if Ukrainian soldiers attempt to disable them, they will be targeted by artillery strikes.

According to the journalists, the “Orlan-10” drones are difficult to neutralize with jammers, and Russian radio-electronic warfare (REW) units will detect Ukrainian soldiers attempting to do so and respond with accurate artillery strikes. As a result, countering these drones proves challenging, subsequently slowing down the UAF counteroffensive.

Earlier, Natalia Humeniuk, a representative of the operational command “South” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, commented on the “miracles of technical improvements” displayed by the Russian military’s UAV “Lancet.”

Denis Fedutinov, the chief editor of the “Unmanned Aviation” magazine, also provided insight into the recent drone attack by “Lancet” near Kryvyi Rih. The expert noted that in this case, a modified version of the UAV with a container launch system was likely employed, allowing for a quicker takeoff compared to the standard variation.

Previously, a Russian captain identified the most useful types of weaponry in the area of the Joint Forces Operation.
