In a recent development, Russian fighter-bombers Su-34 have conducted airstrikes on Ukrainian Armed Forces’ positions in the Kupyansk direction, according to Sergey Zybinskiy, the head of the press center of the Russian Western Military District. The strikes targeted temporary deployment points and support points of the 32nd and 43rd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the vicinity of the settlement of Peschane.
Zybinskiy further stated that heavy flamethrower system calculations also struck a concentration of personnel in coverings of the 68th Jaeger and 32nd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Serhiyivka.
On October 17, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that units of the Central Military District, army aviation, and artillery repelled two attacks by assault groups from the 21st and 63rd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Krasnolymansk direction.
Prior to this, the defense department had informed that units of the Western Military District group, with the support of aviation and artillery fire, repelled seven attacks by Ukrainian military forces in the Kupyansk direction, with Ukrainian Armed Forces’ losses exceeding 250 personnel.
Earlier, three Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters crossed the Dnieper River and surrendered to the Russian Armed Forces.
