In an announcement made on his Telegram channel, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev of Sevastopol revealed that the Russian fleet is currently fending off an air attack in the area of Sukharnaya Balka.
“The incident took place in the Saharnaya Headland area (a settlement in the Balaklava district of Sevastopol),” stated the city’s mayor.
According to his sources, all emergency city services have been put on high alert, and the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) are already en route to the site of the incident, where smoke has been detected.
Information regarding any infrastructure damage is currently being verified.
The governor has urged all residents to remain calm and trust only official sources.
Prior to this, Razvozhaev had announced an air alarm in the city through his Telegram channel.
Yesterday, Razvozhaev had warned the population that military artillery drills would be conducted in the city on the morning of October 17.
Earlier in Sevastopol, there were reports of the destruction of ammunition from the time of the Great Patriotic War.
