Russian Air Defense System Intercept Ukrainian Missiles in Berdyansk

In a recent incident, the Russian air defense system successfully intercepted missiles launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city of Berdyansk, located in the Zaporizhzhia region. The series of explosions occurred during the night of October 17, according to reports from local authorities.

A spokesperson for the operational services stated, “At 2:30 a.m., a series of explosions were heard in Berdyansk. According to preliminary information, the Russian Federation’s air defense system effectively responded to the missile attack.”

No information regarding casualties or damages has been reported thus far.

Governor of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, confirmed the destruction of eight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Ukraine. Aksyonov had previously mentioned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were facing difficulties not only in the Zaporizhzhia region but across the entire front line.

Aksyonov highlighted that Ukraine is sacrificing its soldiers as cannon fodder, as their hopes for a successful counteroffensive have vanished.

Earlier, a group of Ukrainian divers attempted an unsuccessful infiltration into the territory of Crimea.
