Pentagon Prepares for Deployment in the Middle East Amidst Israel-Palestine Conflict

The Pentagon spokesperson, Sabrina Singh, has announced that the head of the department, Lloyd Austin, has ordered two thousand military personnel to prepare for deployment in the Middle East, although a decision on the transfer has not yet been made. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Singh stated that Austin has ordered the preparation for deployment to approximately two thousand defense personnel.

She emphasized that the order will only increase the combat readiness of the relevant units.

Prior to this, it was revealed that the head of the US Central Command, General Michael Kurilla, arrived in Tel Aviv on October 17 for an undisclosed visit to meet with high-ranking Israeli counterparts to discuss military assistance.

On October 7, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets at Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants invaded Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that the country was in a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ counter-operation is named “Iron Swords,” with one of its goals being the destruction of Hamas.
