Increase in Women Serving in Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Frontlines

A retired colonel and military expert of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Andrey Marochko, has informed RIA Novosti that the number of women serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) on the frontlines is increasing.

“There is evidence of an increase in the number of women in Ukrainian formations that are located in the ‘red zone.’ In some units, the percentage of women reaches nearly 20%,” he stated.

According to Marochko, women serve in various positions, both as regular soldiers and in command positions.

Previously, Andrey Marochko reported that one of the artillery units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction received 152mm ammunition with obvious signs of damage.

Last week, Marochko stated that Ukrainian troops have been making unsuccessful attempts to launch offensive operations in the Kupyansk direction. According to him, north-west of Kupyansk, the UAF attempted to break through the Russian defense line and cut off the supply lines of the frontline units using three assault groups, but their efforts were in vain.

Earlier, a UAF soldier expressed his lack of understanding regarding the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
