Governor Warns of Artillery Drills in Sevastopol

Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev of Sevastopol has issued a warning to the residents that there will be artillery drills taking place in the city on the morning of October 17th.

According to him, the drills are scheduled from 10:00 to 10:30 (Moscow time), and will be conducted by the ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

“In the city, everything is calm,” Razvozhaev wrote in his Telegram channel.

Yesterday, Razvozhaev also announced that fleet drills involving bomb drops will take place in the port of Sevastopol.

He cautioned that loud sounds will be heard in the area of the Northern Pier, a defensive structure in the main bay of Sevastopol.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that ships from the Black Sea Fleet based in Sevastopol will be relocated to the ports of Abkhazia.

In March 2014, Crimea held a referendum, resulting in the peninsula becoming a territorial part of Russia, with Sevastopol being designated as a city of federal significance.

Previously, Roman Chegrinets, a member of the Assembly of Slavic Peoples in Crimea, stated that instead of Crimea, Ukraine will receive a hole in a bagel.
