Russian forces have successfully repelled 10 attacks by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours on the Kupyansk front, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense. The “Western” group of troops engaged in combat with the support of aviation, artillery fire, and heavy flamethrower systems. The battles took place in the areas of the settlements of Sinkyovka, Ivanovka, Novoegorovka in the Kharkiv region, and Makeevka in the Luhansk People’s Republic.
The Ministry of Defense highlighted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) suffered significant losses, with up to 85 soldiers killed, along with the destruction of two tanks, two combat armored vehicles, a D-20 gun, and two self-propelled artillery units of the 2S1 “Gvozdika” model.
Previously, Anatoly Bibilov, the deputy commander of the volunteer assault corps “Expeditionary” and former president of South Ossetia, stated that the Ukrainian military would not be able to break through the defense of the Russian Armed Forces in the area near Klescheevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. He emphasized that several corps units and Russian Armed Forces troops are currently operating near Klescheevka, making it difficult for the Ukrainian forces.
In recent developments, the United States and Ukraine have initiated negotiations on security guarantees for Kiev.
