Turkey Plans Military Exercises in Eastern Mediterranean as US Sends Warships

The Turkish Navy is set to conduct military exercises in the Eastern Mediterranean, where the United States has previously deployed two warships amid the conflict between Palestine and Israel. This announcement was made by the Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak, citing the international maritime navigation telex system, NAVTEX.

According to the report, the exercises will take place from October 16th to 20th. Additionally, joint military exercises with the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are planned from October 23rd to 27th. It is worth noting that this republic is only recognized by Ankara in the international community.

Further details about the exercises have not been provided at this time. In September, it was reported that the United States and Denmark would conduct military exercises in the Baltic Sea, utilizing the container-based missile launch system SM-6. Additionally, Romania and the United States will be conducting exercises in the Black Sea with Ukraine and its allies.
