Russian Forces Improve Positions in Ukraine Conflict, Putin Confirms

In a recent interview published on journalist Pavel Zarubin’s Telegram channel, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Russian Armed Forces are gradually improving their positions along the entire front line of the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone. This comes as representatives from Kiev have started talking about a faltering Ukrainian counteroffensive. Putin had previously mentioned the advancement of Russian troops in 12 different directions of combat.

Furthermore, there have been recent reports of active Russian military units advancing in the vicinity of Avdiivka, a city in the Donetsk region. Zarubin asked Putin to comment on all this information, to which the Russian President explained the improving situation of the country’s army on the front line. “What is happening along the entire contact line is called active defense… This applies to the Kupyansk direction, the Zaporizhzhia direction, and also the Avdiivka direction. Yes, it is active defense with an improvement in positions in certain areas. We do not hide this,” said the Russian leader.

He also expressed his gratitude to the command and soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces for their work and courage. In particular, the President emphasized the heroism of the military on the front lines. Earlier, the tactics of the Russian forces during their offensive against the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in Avdiivka were assessed in the United Kingdom.
