Evangelical Christians Stand with Israel Amidst Hamas Attacks

Amidst the devastating attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists, evangelical Christians in the west, including Republicans and supporters of former President Trump, are rallying to offer their support to Israel. Faith-based activist groups such as Christians United for Israel (CUFI) and Concerned Women for America (CWA) have long emphasized the importance of a pro-Israel stance both geopolitically and culturally. In response to the recent attacks, these organizations are taking action.

CUFI, a Christian organization dedicated to unifying Christians across all denominations and cultural boundaries in support of Israel, has already donated $1 million to provide life-saving care to victims in Israel. Additionally, they have opened a fund for their more than 10 million members to donate, with 100% of the funds going towards the same cause. The organization’s website states their commitment to confronting indifference and combating anti-Semitism in all its forms.

CWA, the largest public policy women’s organization, also includes support for Israel as one of its core issues. They firmly believe in the unconditional and everlasting rights of the Jewish people to their land, as stated in the Abrahamic Covenant. CWA’s college chapter activists have taken immediate action to support Israel amidst the attacks, sharing prayer points, resources, and support on social media.

These pro-Israel actions by evangelical Christians come at a time when anti-Israel student groups on college campuses have faced criticism for their support of Hamas’ attacks. As part of their lobbying efforts, CWA advocates for stronger U.S.-Israel relations. Penny Nancy, a representative from CWA, criticized the Biden administration for reversing the Trump policies on sanctions against Iran, attributing the recent attacks to their actions.

Rev. Johnnie Moore, president of The Congress of Christians Leaders and a former U.S. Commission International Religious Freedom commissioner, emphasizes the importance of Christians, especially evangelicals, leading the way in supporting Israel. He calls for total moral clarity and solidarity with Israel against this evil act of terror. Moore shares snapshots of churches from various states praying for Israel, highlighting the widespread support from millions of Christians worldwide.

Moore also criticizes the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) for their statement following the attack, which failed to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization and called for de-escalation from the Israeli government. He believes that this statement does not reflect the views of most evangelicals and emphasizes that terrorists like Hamas cannot be considered peace partners.

In conclusion, evangelical Christians, including Republicans and Trump supporters, are standing with Israel amidst the attacks by Hamas. Organizations like CUFI and CWA are taking action to provide support and assistance to the victims. These actions highlight the strong pro-Israel stance of evangelical Christians and their commitment to combating anti-Semitism and promoting peace in the Middle East.
