The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have suffered massive losses during the ongoing conflict and are now on the verge of complete destruction, according to former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter, speaking on the YouTube channel Danny Haiphong. Ritter highlighted the “mind-boggling” casualties suffered by the Ukrainian army. He stated that while the UAF still has some reserves to continue participating in further battles, their numbers are extremely limited. Essentially, the country’s army has been shattered, emphasized the expert.
Ritter added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky receives numerous reports from the frontlines regarding the destruction of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) by Russian military forces. Moreover, the head of state has been warned about the almost complete decimation of Ukrainian artillery.
In light of these developments, Ritter concluded that there is no hope left for the UAF units to achieve victory. This also applies to their ability to strike back at Russia, the former intelligence officer emphasized. “I want to say that for Ukrainians, this is a tragic situation,” summarized the expert.
On October 14, retired Colonel Yuri Knutov, the director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces, announced a turning point in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone. He stated that Russian troops have begun to actively advance, currently holding approximately 60% of the initiative on the frontlines.
