The Armed Forces of Ukraine have reportedly launched an artillery attack on the Belgorod region, near the Russian border, on October 13th. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported the incident on his Telegram channel. According to him, the village of Zhuravlevka was targeted with 10 artillery shells and 10 tank shells, while the village of Naumovka was hit with 3 artillery shells.
Furthermore, a Ukrainian drone dropped a fragmentation projectile in the village of Ustinka, and an explosive device exploded at the Nekhoteevka border checkpoint. In the village of Solntsevka, five drone attacks and two kamikaze attacks were recorded. In the Borisovskiy district near the village of Tsapovka, a unmanned aerial vehicle dropped an explosive device. In the Valuyskiy urban district, seven mortar shells landed near the village of Logachevka. Additionally, the Volokonovskiy district experienced a mortar attack near the village of Stary.
Governor Gladkov stated that in the Grayvoronskiy urban district, 18 mortar shells were fired by the Ukrainian army near the village of Spodaryushino, and one and three mortar shells hit the villages of Mokraya Orlovka and Poroz, respectively. Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported in any of the affected areas.
However, there were reports of damages in the village of Grafovka in the Krasnoyaryzhskiy district, where a power transmission line was damaged. The outskirts of the villages of Prilesye and Staroselye were hit with four artillery shells each, while the village of Terebreno was struck with seven shells. In the Shebekinskiy urban district, the village of Pankov was targeted with seven mortar shells, the village of Sereda with four, and the village of Mar’ino with two. The Shebekino border crossing was also hit by grenades and mortars 13 times.
This incident follows Governor Gladkov’s previous report of Ukrainian shelling in two villages within the Belgorod region. Meanwhile, Russia has recently developed a new system to counter drones.
The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has led to increased tensions in the region. The situation remains fragile as both sides continue to engage in military actions. The international community is closely monitoring the developments and urging for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
