Moscow Weather: Warm October Nights Ahead

The Chief Scientist of the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet), Roman Vilfand, has announced that Moscow will experience unusually warm temperatures in the coming days. According to Vilfand, the night temperature on October 15th will not drop below 11°C, a level typically seen in June. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

Vilfand further commented on the upcoming weather, stating that Saturday will see daytime temperatures ranging from 12-14°C in the capital, while Sunday will bring even warmer weather with temperatures reaching 13-15°C. In the Moscow region, the mercury will rise to 16°C.

However, the warm spell will not last long. Vilfand predicts a significant drop in temperatures starting Monday, October 16th, with lows between 2-7°C. By October 17th and 18th, the nighttime temperatures will become negative, ranging from -1 to +4°C. From October 19th onwards, temperatures are expected to drop further, reaching as low as -2°C.

This announcement comes after Moscow experienced its first sub-zero temperature night on October 11th. The coldest recorded temperature in the Moscow region was -4.2°C, measured at the Podmoskovnaya weather station.

In related news, a doctor recently highlighted the illnesses that tend to worsen during colder months.

While the warmer temperatures in Moscow may offer a reprieve from the impending winter chill, it is important to remain cautious of the changing weather patterns and their potential effects on health.
