Israeli Defense Forces Prepare for Expanded Offensive in Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced their readiness to expand their offensive in the Gaza sector, including a ground operation, according to Haaretz. In a statement, the IDF emphasized that military personnel are deployed throughout the country and are prepared for the next phase of the fight against Hamas, with a focus on a significant ground operation. Additionally, the Israeli military highlighted its preparedness for a wide range of attacks, including from the air, sea, and land.

Prior to this announcement, the IDF had declared carrying out widespread strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza sector. On October 14th, the IDF stated that it had used drones to strike Hamas militants who had launched an anti-tank missile near Gaza. On October 7th, Hamas forces fired thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants suddenly infiltrated Israeli territory. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

Earlier, Hamas had reported on the actions of Gaza residents.
