The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced a major victory against Hamas by destroying dozens of drone launch bases in Gaza. The IDF revealed this achievement on their official defense department website. The bases, strategically placed on rooftops and inside residential homes, were used by the terrorist organization Hamas as a shield against Israeli counterattacks.
“The terrorist organization Hamas is using civilians in the Gaza Strip as human shields,” the IDF statement emphasized. “The IDF will continue its intense offensive operations and will relentlessly work towards the complete destruction of Hamas drone systems.”
On October 7th, Hamas militants launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating their proclaimed operation, “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” Thousands of fighters infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and taking over a hundred hostages. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war.
The IDF has named their counteroperation “Iron Swords,” with the primary objective being the elimination of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the delivery of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians should evacuate to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation.
