Israeli Defense Forces Conduct Local Raids in Gaza, Raising Concerns about Humanitarian Crisis

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have recently carried out a series of local raids in the Gaza Strip, according to reports from the American news channel Fox News, citing Israeli military sources. On October 13th, infantry units and tanks from the IDF entered the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that these actions were not part of any previously announced ground operation.

“The IDF stated that its infantry and tanks entered the Gaza Strip… for conducting local raids,” the channel’s report stated.

Prior to this, a representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, revealed that the Israeli government had notified the international organization about the need to evacuate 1.1 million Palestinians to the southern part of the Gaza Strip in anticipation of a ground operation by the IDF. The diplomat stated that the Israeli side demanded the completion of this evacuation process within 24 hours.

However, the UN representative emphasized that the mass evacuation of people could have catastrophic humanitarian consequences. Additionally, it has been reported that Israel’s demand also applies to the employees of international organizations and various social institutions.

Earlier, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Vershinin, discussed with Israel’s Ambassador, Alexander Ben Zvi, the protection of civilians in the conflict zone.
