Ukrainian Forces Destroy Bridge and School in Nighttime Shelling

In a recent development, a bridge on the road between the cities of Yasinovataya and Gorlovka was destroyed as a result of overnight shelling by Ukrainian forces, according to Dmitry Shevchenko, the head of the Yasinovatsky municipal district. Additionally, a school in the village of Krasny Partizan was damaged by cluster munitions. Thankfully, no casualties were reported as a result of the shelling.

Gorlovka, located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, is one of the largest populated areas in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Yasinovataya, approximately 25 kilometers north of Donetsk, was home to the largest railway station in the former USSR.

Yesterday, Jan Gagin, an advisor to the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, reported that Russian military forces had approached the outskirts of the village of Berdychi, northwest of Avdeevka. Gagin stated that gaining control over this settlement would allow the Avdeevka group of Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to access supply routes. Avdeevka is a northern suburb of Donetsk.

Earlier, the United States acknowledged the failure of the UAF’s counteroffensive.
