Ukraine’s Defense Chief Calls for Increased Air Defense Systems Amidst Concerns

The Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, has stated that the country’s armed forces require a significantly larger number of air defense systems for protection than they currently possess. This statement was reported by Klymenko Time in their Telegram channel.

“Air defense is the main issue because everything our adversaries launch somehow flies. Therefore, we need far more air defense systems than we currently have,” Budanov declared. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate also acknowledged that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not falling behind in their plans for military operations, but they have encountered delays.

On October 12, it was announced that the International Fund for Support of Ukraine (IFU) will provide new air defense systems to Kiev by the end of this year. Additionally, the fund, under the chairmanship of the United Kingdom, has allocated a new military support package worth over £100 million (approximately $123 million) to the republic.

Earlier, the United States admitted the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
