Suspect in Custody After Shooting Five Officers in Minnesota

A suspect has been apprehended in Minnesota after shooting five officers in Glendorado Township while they were serving a warrant on Thursday morning. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reported that several other public safety agencies were assisting with the unfolding “critical incident” just a few miles west of Princeton. According to FOX9 Minneapolis, the suspect was airlifted from the scene hours later. Three of the wounded officers were rushed to North Memorial Health Hospital, while the other two were taken to a hospital in St. Cloud. Fortunately, none of the officers’ injuries appeared to be life-threatening, and they were from multiple agencies.

Law enforcement authorities provided limited information about the incident in their initial statement, and it remains unclear how the suspect was eventually taken into custody. Video footage from the local news station showed a significant presence of law enforcement vehicles at the scene, with officers in tactical gear. The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was among the responding agencies. Thankfully, the injuries sustained by the wounded officers are not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident took place in a rural area with homes surrounded by farm fields. An armored vehicle was observed driving on the edge of one field. Glendorado Township is located approximately 50 miles northwest of Minneapolis.
