Russian parliamentarians have introduced a draft law that would empower the National Guard of Russia, known as Rosgvardiya, to establish its own state information system (GIS) in the realm of weapon circulation. The proposed legislation, prepared in collaboration with the Chairman of the State Duma Security Committee, Vasily Piskarev, aims to enhance the capabilities of Rosgvardiya in managing the flow of weapons within the country.
Highlighting Rosgvardiya’s technological advancement, Deputy Alexander Khinshteyn emphasized that 98% of the agency’s services are already provided online. The implementation of the GIS is expected to improve the interaction between Rosgvardiya and citizens, while simultaneously strengthening control over weapon circulation and ensuring the quality of security services. The draft law is set to be presented to the State Duma for consideration on October 13th.
In a related development, Rosgvardiya recently announced plans to test a state-of-the-art unified smoke grenade, RDG-U, intended to safeguard against guided missiles. The successful performance of the ammunition during testing underscores its efficacy in protecting against modern threats.
Khinshteyn had previously commented on the issue of VPN service blockage in Russia.
