In a recent development, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that their air defense systems successfully intercepted six HIMARS rocket projectiles and 39 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of a special military operation. These drones were destroyed in the vicinity of the settlements of Spornoye and Peski in the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as Belogorovka and Nyrkovo in the Luhansk People’s Republic. The destruction of drones also took place in Novofedorovka, Romanovskoye, and Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye region, as well as Nikolaevka and Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region.
On the same day, the RIA Novosti news agency reported that the troops of the “Dnepr” group of the Russian Armed Forces had thwarted an attempt by the Ukrainian paratroopers to land on the island of Bolshoi Potemkin at the mouth of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region.
It is worth noting that the Russian Ministry of Defense had previously announced that Russian forces had targeted a foreign mercenaries’ depot belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Volchansk, Kharkiv region.
