NATO defense ministers, in a meeting held in Brussels, have called on the Hamas group to immediately release the Israeli hostages. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the alliance’s press release. The NATO allies have expressed solidarity with Israel, clearly indicating that it has the right to defend itself proportionally against acts of terror.
The statement highlights that the alliance has urged Hamas to immediately release all hostages and ensure maximum protection for the civilian population. On October 12th, Israel’s Minister of Energy, Israel Katz, stated that the Gaza Strip would remain under an energy and humanitarian blockade until the abducted Israelis are freed. According to the minister, Israel will not resume the supply of fuel, water, and electricity until Hamas militants release all Israeli hostages.
Earlier, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, promised a “unprecedented response” to the Gaza Strip that would be remembered for 50 years.
