Israeli Army Deploys Reservists to Border Cities Amidst Escalation of Forces

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have sent reservists to cities on the border with Lebanon amidst a general reinforcement of troops in the northern part of the Jewish state. This development, reported by the Times of Israel citing the IDF, highlights the military’s tasks which include patrolling, setting up ambushes, and placing checkpoints on roads to ensure the safety of residents in bordering cities.

The IDF had previously announced that it had received reports of a suspected infiltration into the country’s airspace from Lebanon. On October 7, the Hamas movement launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country on the same day. Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war. The IDF’s operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.”

A political analyst previously identified one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
