Hamas Launches Rocket Strikes on Israeli City, In Response to Army Attacks on Palestinians

The military wing of Hamas, known as the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, and the group Saraya al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigades) – the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad (an organization banned in Russia) – have announced another round of rocket strikes on the Israeli city of Ashkelon. This information was reported in Telegram channels of the movements, as reported by TASS.

It is claimed that these attacks are in response to the Israeli army’s assaults on peaceful Palestinians. Prior to this, Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), reported that four people were hospitalized as a result of the shelling of the city of Sderot in Israel by Palestinian militants from Hamas.

On October 7, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Against this backdrop, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country on October 7. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war. The operation by the Israel Defense Forces against Hamas has been named “Operation Iron Swords.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu outlined Israel’s objectives in the war with Hamas.
