In a recent conversation with journalists before his trip to Israel, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Washington intends to actively work towards deterring any potential aggression against Israel. According to TASS, Blinken emphasized that the US will send a powerful signal, as President Joe Biden has already made clear, to any state or party that may try to take advantage of the current situation.
Blinken highlighted that an American aircraft carrier strike group is already in the Mediterranean Sea, ready to clearly demonstrate the US’s intention to restrain anyone contemplating any form of further aggression against Israel. The Secretary of State confirmed that Washington has already begun providing emergency military assistance to Israel and has no plans to stop there. He stated that substantial military aid requested by Israel is already on its way.
Furthermore, Blinken underscored that the White House is prepared for the possibility that Israel may require additional military assistance and is committed to collaborating with the US Congress on this matter. Earlier, President Biden warned Iran to exercise caution in the situation surrounding Israel.
