Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has announced that a solution has been found for the replacement of the An-72 and An-26 light transport aircraft. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense. It is known that Shoigu participated in a meeting with the leadership of the United Aircraft Corporation in Ulyanovsk.
“Today, we will discuss an important issue that has long required a solution. The solution has been found. Now we need to determine the timelines – how soon and how quickly we can implement this solution,” Shoigu explained.
The Russian Defense Minister also inspected the implementation of the state defense order at the Aviastar plant. At the end of the inspection, Shoigu held a meeting with the leadership of the United Aircraft Corporation and the relevant central military management bodies. The participants discussed the state and prospects of development in the country’s military transport aviation.
Prior to this, Shoigu inspected the implementation of the state defense order at the Almaz-Antey enterprise in Ulyanovsk. Earlier, a new system for suppressing drones was created in Russia.
