Israeli Defense Forces Strike Hamas Naval Targets in Response to Attacks on Israeli Coastline

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that it has carried out strikes on naval targets belonging to Hamas, which were being used by the group to launch attacks on the Israeli coastline. According to reports from Haaretz, among the targets hit by the IDF were the docks in Khan Yunis and Gaza. The Israeli army also reported the elimination of a diver who attempted to infiltrate the country.

Prior to this, it was revealed that the home of Muhammad al-Deif, the commander of the military wing of the Palestinian organization Hamas, known as the Al-Qassam Brigades, was targeted in an attack by the Israeli Defense Forces. The IDF spokesperson also stated that Israeli forces had struck over 200 targets in the Al-Furkan area of the Gaza Strip.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched several thousand rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. In response, the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was in a state of war. The IDF operation against Hamas has been named “Operation Iron Swords”.

Netanyahu previously stated that Israel was transitioning to a massive attack “like never before.” The situation in the region remains tense as both sides continue to exchange fire and engage in military operations.
