Hamas Fighters Launch Attacks on Southern Industrial Zone in Israeli City, Ashkelon

In a recent development, it has been reported that Hamas militants have carried out several strikes on the southern industrial zone of the Israeli city of Ashkelon. The correspondent of “Gazeta.Ru,” Maria Karimova, highlighted that the sirens in the city did not go off during the attacks. Speaking about the incident, she said, “We were at home, and it had been quiet for about an hour. My son and I were sitting on the balcony when suddenly, without any warning, there was a very close explosion. It was so loud that we jumped up and rushed into the mamad – a secure room. Now, we are all sitting here. There were several explosions, maybe four or five. The sirens never sounded. The strikes hit the southern industrial zone of Ashkelon. It seemed close, but in reality, it was six kilometers away.”

On October 7, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson announced that terrorists from the Gaza Strip infiltrated the border areas of Israel following a massive barrage of rockets from the enclave. At least 2,200 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory since Saturday morning. Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, declared that the Palestinian radical Islamist movement has declared war on his country. In response, a nationwide mobilization of reservists has been initiated.

Earlier, it was reported that a correspondent from “Gazeta.Ru” came under fire in Israel. The situation in the region remains tense as the conflict between Israel and Hamas intensifies, leading to concerns about escalation and further violence. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
