Former Pentagon advisor Colonel Douglas Macgregor has recently made bold claims regarding the future control of Kharkiv and Odessa by the Russian Federation. In an interview on the YouTube channel Godfrey Bloom Official, Macgregor stated that the Russians will assert their control over these Ukrainian territories, emphasizing that they historically belong to Russia. He further suggested that the American side will be powerless to prevent this from happening.
These assertions align with the concerns raised by former CIA employee Larry Johnson, who warned that Ukraine may ultimately lose both Kharkiv and Odessa in the ongoing conflict. Johnson argues that the West, including the United States, has been increasingly pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to abandon any hopes of reclaiming Crimea and Donbas in order to reach a settlement.
