Russian Air Defense Systems Intercept Missiles and Drones in Ukraine Conflict

Russian air defense systems have successfully intercepted three “Tochka-U” missiles and two converted S-200 surface-to-air missiles in the area of a special military operation, according to a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Additionally, 25 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were neutralized and destroyed by electronic warfare means.

The Ministry of Defense further reported that drones were also eliminated in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions. This comes after the Russian Armed Forces prevented a terrorist attack from Ukraine on Russian territory, destroying three “Tochka-U” missiles with air defense systems over the Belgorod region.

Prior to this incident, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to attack the Kursk region using a UAV. Over the past week, Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems have neutralized a total of 320 Ukrainian drones.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed the challenges faced by Ukraine in shifting the conflict onto Russian territory.
