Palestinian President Urges Immediate Assistance for Gaza Amid Israeli Aggression

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded swift aid to be sent to the Gaza Strip amidst Israeli aggression, according to local news agency WAFA. In a statement, Abbas ordered the government and relevant authorities to immediately allocate all available resources to Gaza. He asserts that the region, along with other occupied Palestinian territories, will not be left alone in the face of terrorist aggression. Abbas has called on the international community to intervene promptly and compel the Israeli occupying authorities to fulfill their legal obligations to the Palestinian people.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.” In retaliation for the attacks, the Israeli Air Force struck 21 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, the United States had discussed measures to provide assistance amid the conflict with Palestine.
