UN Increases Presence on Israeli Border Amid Escalating Conflict with Palestine

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has announced an increase in its presence on the border with Israel due to the escalation of the conflict with Palestine. This development comes as tensions continue to rise between the two sides. UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti stated that peacekeepers are stationed along the “blue line” to maintain stability and prevent further escalation. Additionally, they have adapted and expanded their presence throughout the region of their operations.

Tenenti also highlighted the use of radars by UNIFIL to detect any rockets that may be launched during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This serves as a crucial measure to ensure the safety of both parties involved.

In a tweet, the leader of the military wing of the movement, Mohammed al-Deif, claimed that over 5,000 rockets and projectiles had been fired towards Israeli positions since morning. Al-Deif also called on the “Islamic resistance in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon” to support Hamas. It has been reported by Al Jazeera that the Palestinian armed movement, Islamic Jihad (an organization banned in Russia), has announced its alliance with Hamas. Furthermore, al-Deif’s statement accused the Israeli side of occupation and repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Earlier, the Israeli police predicted the duration of the conflict escalation.
