In a recent update provided on his Telegram channel, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, discussed the situation in the region regarding the ongoing shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to his statement, on October 6th, two Ukrainian artillery shells were fired towards the village of Zhuravlevka in the Belgorod District. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
In the Valuysky City District, the village of Verigovka was targeted by mortar fire, with four rounds recorded. The Volokonovsky District also experienced grenade launcher attacks, resulting in five strikes in the village of Stary. Additionally, a fragmentation projectile was dropped near the village of Plotvyanka from an unmanned aerial vehicle.
In the Grayvoronsky City District, on the outskirts of the village of Poroz, five mortar shells were fired. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident as well.
Furthermore, in the Shebekinsky City District, in the village of Sereda, a Ukrainian quadcopter was brought down using electronic warfare means. Along the multi-lane automobile checkpoint “Shebekino,” seven mortar shells were fired, and two mortar shells were launched towards the settlement of Pervomaysky. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in these incidents either.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously reported that Russian air defense systems had destroyed five Ukrainian drones over the territory of the Belgorod Region. It is worth noting that Russia has recently developed a new system for countering drones.
