Russian Defense Forces Shoot Down Ukrainian Drone Attempting Attack on Moscow

In a recent incident, the Russian Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Istrinsky district of the Moscow region. This information was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense through its Telegram channel. According to the ministry, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) made an attempt to attack targets within the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region at 05:05 am on October 7th using a drone aircraft.

“The unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed by the air defense forces over the territory of the Istrinsky district of the Moscow region,” the ministry’s statement read. Prior to this, Sergey Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow, had already announced that a drone heading towards Moscow had been shot down over the Istrinsky district.

Preliminary reports suggest that there were no casualties or damage caused by the wreckage of the drone. It is worth noting that on October 6th, the Governor of Sevastopol announced that the air defense system had successfully repelled an attack from the sea.

This incident comes after Russia recently developed a new system for countering drones, highlighting the country’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities against potential threats.
